Choo Choo!! Do You Have a Makeup Train Case?

I do. It is big and bulky and I love it. =) (Note to self: I should take a picture of it and show you.)

When I was perusing the beauty counters at Nordstrom the other day, I saw this MAC train case:

It is a professional artist case that is temperature controlled so if you left it out in the car in the summer, nothing would happen to the makeup inside because it maintains the temperature inside the case.

I really like all the compartments, but I feel like there are so many sliding trays and such that I couldn't stuff it to my liking, so I don't know how much I could actually fit in here. And I always want to carry more products than I actually need....cuz you never know....and I don't think this would work too well for me. But I still like the idea of it.

Oh, by the way this costs $225. Forget the case....you know how many lipsticks I could buy with $225?!?!

What do you think? Do you have a train case?

  3. I used to have a train case but found that I wasn't making good use of it. =) When I travel I like to take everything I can with me and found this to be too much to carry around and guard.

  4. No, I don't. A train case is a huge investment, even for a professional artist (yep, traditional artists use 'em too). You really need to know you'll use them.

If I bring my art stuff out with me, I just tote them around in a backpack. Cheap and easy since the medium I use most is colored pencils, pencils and a sketch book (and you can't exactly MELT colored pencils).

Ditch the lipsticks! Think of the eyeshadows! Give me eyeshadows anyday.

  5. @Rocaille I know!! I'm dreaming of the lipstick shades already!

@Adorable It is a nice case, isn't it? Just a bit pricey!

@Neena I can relate! I'm sure your train case is in good use now. =)

@Katie Yeah, they are quite an investment! I didn't know you are in to art! That is so neat! Do you have pics of your work anywhere online?

  6. @Kajal Ha ha, I've been into art since I was in the womb; at least, that's what my mom says.

I do have a place where I put my hodge podge of stuff here. I sort of dabble everywhere and master in nothing; I bore with one thing way, way too easily! I think you can find every version of crafting at my house. Unlike a lot of people, I actually DO go back to them...it just may take a few years!

(However, I do use my sewing machine quite frequently. I'm teeny tiny and my jeans don't hem and take themselves in by themselves, y'know. My quilting vibe died half-way through making my mom's "quilt," if you could call it that. It looks more like an overgrown weed, if you ask me.)

P.S. All of my "photography" (I'm not a pro or anything) is on my Facebook. (You would have to friend me though as my FB is private to my online friends and family. I don't like everyone seeing everything!) I should upload more to my art page though.

  7. Wait!!! I'll post the public links to my FB albums here (so you don't have to sit there and read my quirky FB posts. They are quirky!). Okay, I'll send you three.

  8. @Katie!! Thanks so much for sharing your photographs!! Zena is absolutely adorable!! Especially in that pink sweater......if I had a dog I would totally dress her up like that too!!!!

That is so cool that you dabble in so many art forms...and hey, even if it is years later, at least you go back to the projects! =)

  10. @Kajal Ha ha, it's not pink, it's primary red! Blame the camera. Mine will photograph blues and purples beautifully (the two colors swatchers complain NEVER photograph right), but mine will distort red.
