A New Staple in My Makeup Bag - Sue Devitt's Eye Intensifier Pencil

I have an affinity for pencil products, lip stick pencils, gloss pencils, shadow pencils...basically anything that is pencil-like and easy to travel with. So when I received a Sue Devitt Eye Intensifier Pencil and read that it is a long-lasting, waterproof pencil that can be used both as a liner and as a shadow, I was excited to review it for you.

This pencil is neat because one side is the actual product and the other is a smudger, that is actually decent quality...meaning, I wouldn't mind using it on my eyes. Sometimes the smudger that is attached to liners can be so stiff that I prefer using a separate brush to smudge the color.

I tried out the shade Kenya, which is a gorgeous bronzy, dark brown. Unfortunately, when I first tried applying the product to my eye, the tip broke off.

That was a bit disappointing, but I sharpened it up again and it worked just fine. I first applied the pencil as a liner, which might have looked ok if I had smudged it, but I wanted to see how it would look on its own as a liner.

The color itself is GORGEOUS, and I could have easily worn this out just like this (well, don't mind the creased foundation on my eye, I did fix that, unfortunately not before I took the photo though).

I then drew the pencil all over my eye and used the smudger to blend it all over the eye. I really like wearing the pencil this way. In order to wear this out, all I would have added was a highlighter on the brow bone and blended the crease. Voila! Smokey eyes in 2 minutes!

So other than the shade and ease of using the Sue Devitt Eye Intensifier Pencil, what I like best is that it really is long-lasting. I did not experience any creasing whatsover. The color did begin to fade a bit after the 5th hour, but not significantly. I am definitely going to check out the other shades of this pencil. I think it is a great single item to throw in your purse to turn a daytime look into a smokey night time look.

  1. Very nice! I like the color, but it's a bit hard to see how it works without a full-face picture.
